So today is the day, i am taking part in the Run the Night Adidas event here in Berlin. I signed up for this event a while ago, as i thought it would be a good idea. When i signed up i was really stressed out as it was the high point of my revision mode phase, and i thought ah a run through the city at night surrounded by people running as well would be a fun thing to do. I guess when you are in study mode anything but studying sounds like a good time.
Now the day has come and i am not prepared at all i mean zero nothing.
However i have run a 10k before and i was also unprepared then. However that time it panned out fine so i think that this time it will be ok as well, i just ate some pasta and i think that will pull me through.
The Next day:
Okay guys so i ran the 10k and it almost killed me i somehow got a stomach cramp and felt so awful halfway. However, i also think that i got the cramp because i was running quiet fast in the beginning i didn’t time myself well enough and i think i underestimated the route.
However i did not give up! i pulled through and finished the race in 66:07 minutes i am so happy. Yes, my time could be better but without training i am glad that i finished and that my body pulled through.I am now experiencing the after effects as my muscles are super tense and i feel super tired, therefore i took it easy today.( and treated myself to the best veggie burger in town from schiller burger and sipped on some hibiscus lemonade)
This race motivated me to train a little more and really motivated me to keep on going. I also learnt to trust myself more and to be grateful for my body because it has so much strength and it pulls me through so much. I can only encourage everyone to take part in events like this, it teaches you a lot about the wonderful strength that is within us all.
